Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick – A Review

8 Apr

So about two weeks ago, I got my first Influenster Vox Box. If you are not aware of what Influenster or Vox Boxes are, go to Influenster.com and if you are a huge social media whore like myself, sign up. Essentially, Influenster measures your presence on social media, asks you to take random surveys, and if everything is looking right, you can qualify for a VoxBox. A VoxBox is box full of one (or many) goodies from a specific company, and you are expected to use, review, and influence your social media kingdom in their opinion of that product that you received for free. Make sense? So, between my love for all things social media AND free things, I signed up for this because nothing makes me happier than getting something free in the mail that isn’t a bill or a request for money from Seton Hall Law School.

Anyway, I got my first one and it was for Rimmel London’s new Moisture Renew Lipstick. I got it in the “As You Want Victoria” color. It came in a box as such:

This review, please note, is based on a product that I received for free for testing from Influenster. I didn’t get paid or swayed (rhymes) for any of this.

The color is super cute – a very bright pink that goes well with my particular skin shade (whatever that may be, some variation of Caucasian I am sure). The lipstick itself is super creamy and glides on very nice. You can obviously tell it is a hydrating lipstick when you put it on, because it stays moist throughout the wear. My only complaint about the lipstick is that it does not like to stay on your lips – you have to do fancy make-up tricks (blotting and powder tricks) to stop it from just transferring onto all of your coffee mugs, silverware, and food.

On the whole, I’d recommend it as “going out to the bar/club” type lipstick – the color is loud and very cute, and if you’re going out, you’re not eating anyway so you don’t care about lipstick getting on food. Just make sure you drink your liquids through a straw.

Ok, now back to pretending that I am actually doing work that I enjoy.

P.S. Two posts in one week. I am a boss.

Hahaha girl, I miss you too. I am starting to think that I will never again have coworkers as cool as you guys haha. I’m working on doing the blog more though. More writing, less lawyering, that’s the goal. ❤
